In order to pump up the spirit at VYC III this year, we have planned a special banner procession that will take place during the opening ceremony of the convention. More specifically, the banner procession has been planned so that each person that serves God has their moment to represent their groups in front of thousands of Vietnamese youth, parents, and potential “new members,” to spread God’s love, as well as the passion of the youth for Christ.
To make sure that everyone has a chance to participate in this event, all parishes, youth groups, and Doan Thieu Nhi Thanh The, are invited to create a banner that represents who the group is, what they are known for, and how they contribute to the Vietnamese Catholic community. God has given each group something special to bring with them to VYC III… the banners are a way to highlight that for those who don’t know or are interested about your group!!
The following are the options for your banner or flag:
The banner/ flag MUST include the name of your group in large letters that can be seen from far away! Please limit your group to making the banner a sign that is nice, easy to read, and acceptable for the convention. Most importantly, don’t forget to be CREATIVE!!!
IMPORTANT information (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)
1.) Although TNTT groups can also make banners for their group, it is requested that all Doan Flags are present for the procession. Please plan on providing a pole for the flag as well.
2.) It is important that a representative from each group email Patricia Duong (patriciaduong@yahoo.com) with your group name, the names of the one or two members that are participating in the banner procession and a picture of your banner once it is completed
3.) If you do not confirm which type of banner or flag you are bringing, you will not be able to participate in the procession. Banners MUST be pre-approved before participating in the procession
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP AND PARTICIPATION!
We look forward to seeing all youth groups represented at VYC III!!! J
Hope everyone is doing well! I just wanted to keep you guys updated on an important event that is happening all over Orange County, even as you are reading this!!!

The following is an excerpt found on the home page:
The world-famous International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima was sculpted in 1947 by Jose Thedim, based on the description of Sr. Lucia, one of the three young seers who saw Our Lady each month from May to October 1917 in Fatima , Portugal .
On October 13, 1947, in the presence of some 150,000 pilgrims, the statue was blessed by the Bishop of Leiria at Fatima , Portugal to be the pilgrim, the traveler.
Sent out to bring the Message of Fatima to the world, the International Pilgrim Virgin Statue has traveled the world many times, visiting more than 100 countries, including Russia and Red China, bringing the great message of hope, “the peace plan from heaven,” to millions of people. Many miracles and signal graces are reported wherever the statue travels including shedding tears many times.
In 1951, Pope Pius XII remarked: “In 1946, we crowned Our Lady of Fatima as Queen of the World and the next year, through Her Pilgrim Statue, She set forth as though to claim Her dominion, and the favors She performs along the way are such that we can hardly believe what we are seeing with our eyes.”
The Pilgrim Virgin Committee was formed to carry out the mandate set down by the Bishop of Fatima in 1947 and now, after 54 years, Pope John Paul II says that the Message of Fatima is more urgent now than ever. So, the Pilgrim Virgin Committee continues to bring the statue to the world and the demand for visits of the statue remains.
